I. PUTTING INTO OPERATION OF MINES IN GHANA

GOLD MINE AT TONTOKROM OXIDE DEPOSIT (Ashanti Region)

Project name: “Reconstruction of the Tontokrom openpit for increasing its capacity (western part of the Ashanti region)”

Technical project specification:
  • development of new technological solutions associated with the development of the forward ledge of the working side of the open pit to ensure the possibility of mining operations on the lower horizons;
  
Expected results:
  • reconstruction and arrangement of the openpit;
  • construction and startup of the processing complex and organization of permanent operating of the mine.
  
Obtained results:
  • debts for stripping works of about 500,000 m3 have been liquidated;
  • the new concentrating complex has been built (capacity 250 m3 per hour for pulp) with the concentrate finishing section and the smelting shop;
  • 33 acres of land have been alienated for a mining allotment in order to form an external spoil heap area;
  • The gold mine has been put into operation;
  • the technical development project of the deposit has been drawn up, within the framework of which the mine operates and increases production volumes to this day.
